Additional Support Needs teachers support class teachers by helping to prepare work suitable for pupils with a range of needs. They also prepare programmes of work for individuals and small groups

Additional Needs Assistants support pupils in mainstream classes and in small groups.

S1/2 Course information

Additional Support Needs staff work in many classes in S1 and S2. They provide extra support when needed.

Some pupils may get additional teaching, either in small groups or individually, for reading, spelling and number skills.

S3/4 Course information

Additional Support Needs staff work in many classes in S3 and S4. They provide extra support when needed.

Some pupils may be allowed to use assessment arrangements for tests and exams to compensate for conditions such as dyslexia.
